The Prime Minister of the Tripoli-based General Government Congress (GNC), Omar al-Hassi, has been sacked.
BBC News reports that MPs voted to oust him on Tuesday following allegations he misled parliament about government finances.
He had been appointed in August to lead an alternative government after Islamist militia seized the capital.
A spokesman for the GNC told AFP that the sacking was not expected to disrupt government operations.
